What is Your Niche?
I see this question asked so many times and I see many people stalling when it comes to starting their blogs because they want to find a unique niche that’s going to make them the most money. However, if they are lucky enough to find a profitable niche they lack the knowledge, passion and motivation to make it a success.
Also, I have seen people know what they want to blog about but are put off by what they believe to be competition and think that they are entering the blog world too late to make any money from their niche.
So how do you choose a niche?
It’s actually easier than what you think.
The secret to having a successful blog is to write about:
- What do you know about that you could talk about for hours
- What makes you happy knowing you could share that information
- What makes your eyes light up when someone asks you a question
We all have something that we know about, it could be about your career, your hobby, your skill, your talent, your past times, your gifts, etc.
We are all walking Niches just that we need to tap into it and turn it into a residual income.
I designed websites & printed materials which was my hobby at first. I turned it into a career, but I found myself mentoring my clients on blogging, business development, advertising and social media.
I have always loved business, so when a customer asks me a question, I can’t help myself by giving lots of advice and ideas. I realised that I like to help so here I am writing a book that shares all that I have learned over the last 15 years.
My chosen niche is a well-saturated market but it what’s I know and its what I’m passionate about.
What I have to share could be for any business and industry if I adapted it slightly but I love making a residual income through blogging, so I narrowed down my target market to just bloggers.
So now I have the best of both worlds a profitable niche that I can provide valuable information and the pleasure of helping bloggers like you succeed as well.
So how do you find your niche?
Your niche has to be something that you know about otherwise it’s tough to convince your audience to invest in you. Your audience already has either a good understanding of your niche or a general idea of what you are talking about and will see straight through any lies or deceit.
You will hear me say this so many times but there are billions of people in the world, and there will be at least a few thousands to millions of readers that will be interested in what you have to say.
